A portion of the practice of Law Offices of Mitchell R. Friedman, P.C., is devoted to Special Education Law and advocating for Special Needs children and parents. We have substantial first-hand experience in obtaining proper services for children and navigating families through the IEP process. We have also unfortunately learned that despite having the mandate of providing a free and appropriate education for each child, school districts tend to keep more of an eye on expenses rather than providing this education. In many cases, time is truly of the essence, and a legal advocate is essential.
Law Offices of Mitchell R. Friedman, P.C., is available to attend school/IEP meetings, counsel parents and help formulate a plan prior to same. We can also assist in helping families find proper health care providers. We are very successful in negotiating fruitful settlements with school districts. However, if this is not possible in a given case, our firm can handle all aspects of due process hearing, mediation and litigation. We also defend disciplinary, suspension and expulsion proceedings brought against special education and regular education students.
